Early Intervention Program

The Bay School's Early Intervention program for toddlers with autism and developmental delays was established (1) to provide intensive applied behavior analytic services to promote children’s communication, language, speech, cognition, motor and psychosocial development, and (2) to develop and support children in achieving specific IFSP/IEP goals and objectives that will enhance the child’s use of functional skills in his/her home and future educational settings.

Research supported treatment – The Bay School’s Early Intervention program’s treatment approach is based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). These treatment principles are developed from over five decades of published research. The Bay School applies this body of empirical research to address the individual needs of children with autism by focusing on teaching small, measurable units of behavior systematically.

Every child receives a 1:1 staff to student ratio. Daily instruction takes place in a one-to-one setting and in small group activities. The 1:1 ratio is maintained during small group activities.

Daily data collection. Each student's progress is closely monitored by detailed data collection. Data on individual objectives are collected and analyzed for each program by TBS staff working with that child. Data are graphed and progress is reviewed daily by the TBS Board Certified Associate Behavior Analysts.
