What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the process of using behavioral principles to increase desirable behavior (e.g., on-task behavior, social interactions), to teach new skills (e.g., communication, self-help skills), and to decrease behavior that is disruptive to learning (e.g., perseverative behavior, aggression, self-injurious behavior). Through careful data collection and evaluation, ABA produces measurable and lasting improvements in the lives of children with autism.
